About the Project

According to Japanese legend, if you make 1000 paper cranes, you get a wish. My wish is this: I want to make a small impact on the world from my bed.

To do that, I am making 1000 cranes for 1000 people fighting sickness. While I make the crane I pray for the person receiving the crane.

I include the person's name, their illness, and a written prayer. I put the crane in an origami box and send it to them for free.  I realize not everyone wants to give out their address on the internet, so I can just send a picture of the crane to them.

On the website, I will make a blog post for every crane.  I will write about the illness the individual suffers from to spread awareness, if there is anything anyone can do to help, and I will post a picture of the crane I made.  The individual can share his or her story, but only if he or she feels open to that amount of self-disclosure.

If you want a crane made for you, or a loved one, please contact me at 1000cranegirl@gmail.com.
